Tool 8.1 CARE Model: Planning Tool

Identify Concerns that must change (look to the future)

(Assign points to concerns from 1 to 3 in the order of the most important issues to consider.)

1. Consistent School-wide discipline program/procedures that incorporate the radKIDS principals.

2. Additional staff to assist instructors with the monitoring of students to lower the student-to- instructor ratio  in order to make the delivery of the curriculum more efficient.

3. Increase student engagement and participation while decreasing undesirable student behaviors.

Identify Affirmations that must be sustained (look to the present)

1. Continued support from District Administration, Campus Principal, Faculty & Staff, and the community.

2.  Instructors continuing to learn and improve delivery of instruction, through additional training and time to collaborate with other instructors.

3. Training, certifying, and graduating the second through fifth grade students in radKIDS.

SMART Recommendations that must be implemented:

1. radKIDS principles displayed in every classroom and become a part of daily procedures.

2. Students will use their radKIDS knowledge and physical skills in order to improve their problem solving skills.

3. Comparing data from pre and post tests, student surveys, and observations from year to year to document student growth.

EVALUATE – Specifically and Often

(Identify the best ways to evaluate the implemented recommendations.)

1. Evaluate pre and post test results, student surveys, conduct student interviews and wellness checks.

2. Observation and documentation by instructors of the successes and failures that have occurred.

3. Analyze discipline referrals, bully reports, and student discipline step-plans to see if there has been a decrease since the implementation of the curriculum.
